The Engineer is a vital element to any army. Building and upgrading facilities and defenses on the islands. The more Engineers you have, the more productive, at any given time, your island can be.
Engineers are a small utility building consisting of a truck, an Engineer and a workshop that can only be purchased with the use of Gold. An Engineer is required to build, fortify and upgrade buildings as well as for clearing obstacles from the island. While doing any of these things, they are considered active and no longer available to take on new tasks until their current task is completed or skipped using gold.
An Engineer is given to you at the beginning of the game and another can be purchased during the tutorial.
The Engineer and workshop take up 3x3 cells in the game world and can only be built on the land.

Trivia
The main objective of the Engineer is to create and evolve facilities and defenses on the island. The more Engineers owned, the more productive at any given time the Engineers can be.
- Up to five (six on the PS4 platform) Engineers can be owned and used around your islands.
- There is only one level of the building available.
- No Command Bunker requirements are needed to own all of the Engineers. You can potentially own all five Engineers from the beginning of the game, this does however require substantial amounts of Gold.
